An old-school motorcycle rally in the beautiful hill country of Texas.

Old-school often brings a classic style to custom motorcycles and reminds us of our motorcycle roots. In a high-tech world, it’s a refreshing change of pace to embrace the raw mechanical virtues of our bikes. The search for old-school ways of doing things has also spread to the motorcycle event scene.

Thunder in the Hill Country

Thunder in the Hill Country calls itself the “Best old-school Texas rally in the beautiful Texas hill country.” The promoting organization, Biker Rallies of Texas, is back in the hands of the former owners who pledge to make a rally like it was in the past. It’s a promise of old-time rally fun like many grey-bearded riders remember, and it offers a chance for new riders to experience old-school fun.

Gather in the Hill Country

Big rallies in big cities have their virtues and modern amenities, which all bikers enjoy. But there’s always that desire to get out into the country, pack the camping gear on the bikes, and seek some adventure. Early spring is a great time for this and the Texas hill country is a great place to ride and rally.

Old-school rally run

Camping under the stars and watching the campfire reflect in your motorcycle’s chrome is a great way to end a busy day. The Thunder in the Hill Country rally offers you a jam-packed schedule of old-school rally fun. Events include:

  • AMA-sanctioned ride to the Twisted Sisters
  • Poker run
  • Three live concerts
  • Biker games
  • Bike show
  • Contests—including burnouts, bikinis, and tattoos
  • Vendors
