Street Vibrations celebrates its 24th annual fall motorcycle festival this year. The event happens at a very special place in the southwestern U.S.—where the high desert meets America’s largest alpine lake.
The rally calls Reno, Nevada, home. As the self-proclaimed Biggest Little City in the World, it offers an impressive array of lodging and entertainment options. The region is also home to some fantastic motorcycle riding opportunities that take you through breathtaking natural beauty. With 50,000 motorcyclists expected, the rally’s become so popular, Street Vibrations has grown to a number of locations around Reno.
In 1843, American explorer John Frémont—known in his day as the Pathfinder—became the first European-American to explore this region. He named the Carson River for famed mountain man Kit Carson, who was a scout on that expedition. The city’s now the capitol of Nevada and serves as both a waypoint for westward-bound settlers and silver mining at the Comstock Lode.
The discovery of the Comstock Lode in 1859 led to the almost overnight development of Virginia City as a mining boomtown. Today, it offers arts, crafts, museums, history, and many vacation activities.
Only the Great Lakes are bigger by volume than Lake Tahoe. This freshwater alpine lake straddles the California and Nevada state line. The lake and the surrounding area is a major tourist destination and is a beautiful place to ride and take a break from the excitement of Street Vibrations.
High-energy excitement is what you can expect at the Street Vibrations Fall Motorcycle Festival. The event celebrates music, metal, and motorcycles, rocking the region with rally fun. Here’s a list of some of what you’ll see:
