Celebrating its 11th year, the charity-focused Roar on the Shore rally is part of the 2017 AMA Gypsy Tour event schedule. The rally, running from July 12–16, is in the downtown area of Erie, Pennsylvania, with several blocks closed off for motorcycles only.

Located along Lake Erie, this is a great place to spend time with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts. The popularity of the event has grown over the years, evolving from a two-day event to the current five days.

Motorcyclists making a difference

Motorcycle riders understand the great blessing of our American freedoms and the personal joy of being able to ride our motorcycles. As a group, we are keenly aware of the needs of our veterans and members of our communities.

Attracting approximately 165,000 attendees, Roar on the Shore is one of the fastest-growing charitable motorcycle rallies in the country. During the first 10 years of the rally, it has raised more than $800,000 for a diverse group of charities:

  • John Kanzius Cancer Research Fund
  • Shriners Hospitals for Children – Erie
  • Operation Iraqi Freedom & Operation Enduring Freedom
  • Flight 93 National Memorial Campaign
  • Perry 200 Commemoration
  • Boys & Girls Club of Erie
  • SafeNet’s Big Backyard Children’s Garden
  • St. Patrick’s Haven
  • Erie Homes for Children and Adults
  • Project First Step
  • St. Martin Center New Playground Project
