Stevens Point, WI – Nearly 90 low-income students will receive scholarships after a generous donation from Dairyland, a brand of the Sentry Insurance Group.

Dairyland Regional Agency Sales Manager Nick Marsh and Agency Sales Manager Amber Driggers presented a $600,000 check to Step Up For Students on Saturday, November 24, at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. The donation funds K-12 scholarships to be distributed through the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program, which serves children in lower-income families.

Step Up For Students is a nonprofit organization that helps parents and their children choose between a K-12 scholarship to support private school tuition and fees, or one that assists with transportation costs to out-of-county public schools.

“We’re proud of the impact we’ve had on students, their families, and their communities through our annual contributions to Step Up,” said Pete Anhalt, president of Dairyland. “We strive to be a good partner and work to improve life in all of the places we call home.”

This is the third year Dairyland has supported the program and brings the insurance company’s Step Up For Students contributions to $1.2 million.

“We’re honored to have Dairyland as a partner in helping lower-income families in Florida get access to schools that meet their children’s educational needs,” said Doug Tuthill, president of Step Up For Students. “Each year, we’re amazed by their generosity and their continuing commitment to give back to the community.”

During the 2018-19 school year, Step Up For Students will help more than 98,500 children throughout Florida attend 1,700 participating schools.
