One last blast to wrap up the summer motorcycle riding season in Daytona Beach

There’s an old saying that goes, “If one is good, two is better.” That certainly applies to motorcycle tours, rallies, and races—especially when they’re in Daytona Beach, Florida. For more than 75 years, Daytona Beach Bike Week has kicked off the new summer motorcycle riding season each spring. So, it’s only logical that riders return there for Biketoberfest to celebrate the end of the summer riding season.

Two times the motorcycle racing fun

Daytona Beach’s reputation for motorcycle rallies all started with motorcycle racing events. Biketoberfest 2019 offers two different venues for motorcycle racing, featuring both sportsmen and amateur racers.

ASRA/CCS at the Daytona International Speedway

The Championship Cup Series (CCS) races, produced by the American Sportbike Racing Association (ASRA), provides a weekend of on-track racing excitement. Amateur and expert sportsmen race in five different displacements from ultralight to heavyweight, and four motorcycle classes, from SuperSport to GT. These road races are focused on increasing the fun factor while maintaining a safe environment.

The Dunlop Florida Fall Classic at Volusia Speedway Park

Biketoberfest weekend also features amateur flat track racers in bar-to-bar competition. Flat track racing dates back to the beginnings of motorcycle racing. The Dunlop Florida Fall Classic, produced by Flat Track Futures, is sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association. With 12 classes of flat track racing competition, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see young racers. Watch these stars of the future put down the steel shoe and kick up some dirt as they race toward becoming professional flat track racers.

In rallies or races, is second better than first?

With the addition of Biketoberfest, the seaside resort of Daytona Beach now bookends the summer motorcycle riding season with two rallies. But is the second as good as the first? Many riders say “yes.” While Biketoberfest is a smaller and younger event than Spring Bike Week, the more intimate-feeling rally—and the grassroots racing it features—may be closer to the experience riders had in the past. That’s why you shouldn’t miss your chance to make motorcycle history each October. And we know once you experience it, you’ll be back for Biketoberfest 2020.
