Whether you’re a local off-road enthusiast or visiting North Carolina, Busco Beach and ATV Park in Goldsboro is a go-to spot for off-road fun. This park stands out for its rare combination of riding areas and watersport opportunities. Here, visitors can hop on an ATV and explore 2,000 acres of trails in the morning—then switch gears to go fishing or swimming in the afternoon. It’s also a mudder’s paradise. You’ll find no shortage of ways to get dirty, with deep mud pits, dirt tracks, and drag strips throughout the property.

The park offers several maps, including a map of the entire park and eight more specific areas. The main map marks important landmarks like the check-in area, riding areas, the shower house, designated parking, and more.

Entrance fees and waivers

The price to visit Busco Beach and ATV Park is relatively low, with a daily entrance fee starting at $10 per person. That said, there is an additional $10 machine fee that applies to ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, drag bikes, golf carts, jet skis, and more.

Note that this is a cash-only park. Credit cards are not accepted, but there is an ATM available on site. Prices change, so be sure to check the official website or call before heading out.

In addition to entrance fees, you can also expect to sign a waiver before entering the park. Everyone over the age of 18 must show a driver’s license or state issued ID upon arrival.

Minors must always be accompanied by an adult. An adult is responsible for signing a waiver on behalf of the minor.

  • Vehicles:

    • No jeeps or trucks on the trails

  • Helmet requirements:

    • Required for ATVs, dirt bikes, and similar machines

    • Optional for utility vehicles with roll bars

    • DOT-approved helmets only

  • Night riding:

    • Mounted headlight required (no flashlights)

  • Day-use visitors:

    • Must exit the park by 11PM

  • Camping rules:

    • Primitive and tent camping only in designated areas or around the main lake

    • No camping in the trail system

  • Overnight guests:

    • Must pay the next day’s daily fee for each person and machine

  • Overnight parking:

    • Visible parking tag with valid date (next day or later) required

    • Missing tag may result in towing or staff wake-up

    • Advance payment required for overnight stays

Busco Beach and ATV Park is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, most people visit during the warmer months between spring and fall. That said, you can visit anytime—but be aware that a light dusting of snow is possible between December and February, with only a few inches typically falling across the entire season.

Many visitors opt to stay at the park by camping either in a tent or at an RV site. If you want to tent camp, it costs an additional $10 per person per night (in addition to the daily entrance fee).

You can also book campsites with power and water hookups, ranging from $20 to $35 per night. Prices change, so be sure to check with the park when making plans.
