Stops to make along the Cascade Loop

As you ride along this Pacific Northwest loop, prepare to be captivated by a kaleidoscope of scenic wonders and enchanting towns awaiting your exploration. Be sure to bring your camera to capture memories and enhance your trip recaps. Here are some suggested stops:

Ross Lake Recreational Area

Bright blue waters and mountain landscapes draw riders to the Ross Lake Recreational Area. This expansive area offers opportunities for hiking, camping, fishing, and wilderness exploring. Stay overnight here on the cheap—the Colonial Creek South Campground offers standard, non-electric sites for $24/night.

North Cascades National Park

Just three hours from Seattle, North Cascades National Park's rugged beauty is characterized by jagged peaks, deep forested valleys, cascading waterfalls, and over 300 glaciers—more than any other U.S. park outside of Alaska. This park is also home to grizzly bears and gray wolves, plus more than 200 bird species.

Lake Chelan

Lake Chelan is a crystal clear, glacier-fed lake, surrounded by vineyards, mountains and small-town charm. It’s the largest, longest, and deepest lake in Washington—and the third deepest in America at 1,486 feet. Cool off during your ride with a refreshing dip!

Winthrop

Located about halfway along the Cascade Loop, Winthrop is a must-visit—especially if you're a fan of westerns. Enjoy the ambiance of wooden boardwalks, western-themed shops, and modern-day cowboys herding cattle through town. You might run into fellow bikers at Three Fingered Jack's Saloon or Jupiter enjoying some local eats.

Leavenworth

Leavenworth is strategically designed after three German towns: Bemalte Fassaden, Leipzig, and Munich. This alpine Bavarian village features quaint shops, unique tours, and many accommodations. If you love German food and Bavarian architecture, don't skip this charming village.
